Instructions for use
The iron filling is a process which is performed in many cases between the bodywork and the painting areas. The putty, depending on how the workshop is organised and depending on the professional’s experience and the type of damage, can be applied by both the sheet-metal worker and the painter. However, it should be borne in mind that applying a putty should not be a substitute for sheet-metal forming work and should be used when necessary and with a moderate thickness.
Tips
Correct pre-surface preparation. Before starting with the filling, the painted damaged edges to be repaired should be levelled, sanding the surface with a grit sandpaper between P80 – P120 and 5mm orbit, depending on the repair
Check that the working tools have no traces of putty or hardener used in previous repairs, in order to make a smooth and regular application on the surface
Apply a thin putty layer to the surface. it must be spread evenly, making even coats from one end to the other and exerting appropriate pressure on the spatula
In order to reduce the workload of sanding, make the surface flatten every time after scraping
Polyester putty must be applied on the polished area
Scraper should be cleaned immediately after using
