Yannis Kakitsis has had a passion for sailing since he was a young boy. At the age of 7 he started sailing and had many participations and distinctions in Triangle and Open Sea races. He was many times a champion in Olympic classes and belongs to that generation of Greek sailors who are respected and consulted by the younger generation. Since 1977 he has been involved in sail construction. The company Kakitsisails was founded by Yannis Kakistis in 1983. Until today he is still active and manufactures sails for all kinds of boats.
